Champs d’Asile

Champs d’Asile,was a short-lived fort settled in 1818 by a group of French Bonapartist separatists. This project has been going on for several years, and another survey is scheduled for the fall. The project is being coordinated by Sheldon Kindall and involves surveys of the east bank of the Trinity River in the vicinity of Liberty, Texas
